Below are 10 incredible innovations in technology that we can expect in 2023:

1) CRISPR for high cholesterol: the focus of gene editing has now moved from labs to clinics; CRISPR 2.0 has the potential to increase life expectancy and improve the general health of the workforce.

2) AI that makes images: DALL-E 2 & Imagen led the buzz in text-to-image software in early 2022, but the game changing Stability AI is a particular one to watch this year.

3) A revolutionary chip design: the novel open standard RISC-V means that any company can design a chip, free of charge. Widespread technological innovation seems likely, as chips have already sprung up in earbuds, hard drives & AI processors.

4) Mass-market military drones: complex war machines are increasingly being made available at lower prices, which may be used to help war efforts in Ukraine and ease economic pressures.

5) Abortion pills via telemedicine: in light of recent abortion law changes in the USA, demand for abortion pills has surged, and telemedicine may offer the ideal solution.

6) Organs on demand: 3D printing & genetic engineering can help alleviate organ supply concerns and improve productivity through better overall health. Pressures on health systems will also be reduced.

7) The inevitable EV: stricter emissions rules & bans will soon mean that it will be better to buy an electric vehicle than not.

8) James Webb Space Telescope: as scientists begin to analyse data from the world’s most powerful telescope, astronomical discoveries will be plentiful.

9) Ancient DNA analysis: genomic sequencing has enabled us to analyse the DNA of our ancestors, to find out how life has changed over time and what the future may hold.

10) Battery recycling: the surge in demand for lithium-ion batteries has made recycling all the more imperative, as we search for a sustainable way of reducing emissions and adhering to ESG.
